Career Opportunity: Software Engineer (Java)

We are on a growing mode and are seeking Software Engineers with a solid Java background and the following experience and qualifications. The successful candidates will be based in the Vancouver office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Participate in the design, review, implementation and testing of software.
• Be a key contributor to our agile scrum based teams
• Identify and incorporate existing solutions and technologies in order to shorten development time and still maintain a quality code base
• Create specifications and develop software for those specifications.

Qualifications/skills required:

• Minimum 5 to 7 years Java experience.
• Experience and good understand of the issues related to building large scale web applications.
• Strong software design/methodology background and experience in server-side programming.
• Experience with integration existing third party libraries into a solution.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
• Web development experience using some combination of Flex, Seam, JSP and AJAX technologies.
• Experience designing, writing and deploying middleware code in Java using technologies similar to EJB 3.0, Spring or Hibernate.
• Possess a Computer Science degree or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English) with experience in creating clear and concise documentation.

Qualifications/skills that are an asset:

• Experience developing applications on Windows, Linux and Unix platforms.
• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, IP, TR069, DHCP, DNS).
• Background in C++ development.
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of network related problems.
