Broadband Command Center (BCC) MTA Test Appliance

The Broadband Command Center (BCC) MTA Test Appliance diagnoses DOCSIS® modems and PacketCable™ MTAs for defects. The appliance is a turnkey solution that minimizes the quantity of “no fault found” cable modems and MTAs returned to the manufacturer, allowing redeployment of more devices to the field. Since the solution comes from Incognito, the leading advanced provisioning solutions vendor, it supports testing of the latest DOCSIS and PacketCable devices on the market.

The BCC MTA Test Appliance is a LINUX-based appliance that comes pre-configured with call agent, provisioning, testing, and reporting software modules. The MTA Test Appliance provides automated scripts that perform basic testing of a DOCSIS modem including throughput and test call state of the PacketCable MTA.

How it Works
The Incognito BCC MTA Test Appliance requires minimal out-of-box setup action on the part of local technician.

After setting the MTA Test Appliance's IP Address via front panel, the system comes online with necessary setup to auto-provision devices as discovered from the CMTS network. Launching the BCC MTA Test Suite provides the technician with a GUI menu-driven interface that includes individual and batch tests. These tests produce pass/fail results which are written to a local file stamped with the MAC address of the device under test.
