Track and Report Your Space Utilization
Generate customizable reports on-demand or on pre-scheduled intervals using built-in report definitions to capture information on the utilization and deployment of static, dynamic, and MAC-to-IP addresses. View the reports and charts directly from the Web Management Console, or automatically email the reports out in CSV, XML or PDF format.
Receive Automatic Alerts When Thresholds are Met
Alerts can be set to notify network administrators when the network reaches pre-determined IP usage thresholds. Any canned report can be converted into an alert with the click of a check box. When the canned report identifies any data matching the condition stated in the report, reports are automatically emailed to the user. This eliminates the time consuming task of constantly monitoring the system.
Scheduled Utilization Snapshots and Trending
Address Commander has the ability to take snapshots of IP utilization. With this information, it can trend IP address usage over time and consolidate it in charts. The trending can be done based on any grouping or filter to allow customers to trend geographically, based on service provided or any other concept in the product.
Access Network Information and Manage Your IP Space Anytime Anywhere
Address Commander’s Web Management Console allows you to remotely and security view your configuration, entities, subnets, devices, DHCP services and reports from a user-friendly interface. All inter-service communication is encrypted over SSL, ensuring the security of your data. The multi-user system allows widespread, concurrent access to the IP repository and is capable of handling multiple simultaneous updates.
Customize Interface Views for Different User Roles
Based on the settings of each administrator’s user roles, the product presents the most simplified view to the user possible. Roles can be established so that certain options and areas of the product can be hidden from users who do not have access right or do not have the need to view that information.
Ensure the Integrity of IP Administration
Address Commander’s new role based security system allows you to proactively audit user sessions and assign security roles. It tracks each user-initiated session, including what, when and by whom it occurred. Address Commander automatically detects problematic DHCP discovery and DNS resolving configurations and also notifies administrators of any problems. Furthermore, this solution prevents duplicate assignments through the use of business rules and constraints.
Generate Reports Geared for Regional Internet Registries
Address Commander’s reporting module comes with predefined reports tailored for Internet Registries. The reports include all the fields requested by each specific Regional Internet Registry and utilize all necessary business rules when calculating the utilization summaries.
Create RIPE/ ARIN Email Notifications (optional)
Using a built-in ARIN or RIPE module, Address Commander can be configured to generate Regional Internet Registries updates. The information will then be relayed to the appropriate WHOIS system via SWIP email updates.
Effortlessly Generate WHOIS Server Configuration – New
Using our AC Import tool, administrators can now use the relevant information stored in Address Commander to create configuration files of a WHOIS server. These files will then be given to the group responsible for the maintenance your organizations WHOIS server. This is the preferred approach for ARIN.
Full Control over Aggregation Levels Included in RIR Reports - New
Address Commander offers the flexibility of controlling the level of detail included in the canned RIR reports forwarded to the Regional Internet Registry. For example, although internal documentation of the IP space involves portioning the IP space into /28 CIDR boundaries, Address Commander allows you to easily denote the /24 aggregation above it as the smallest aggregation included in the report. Address Commander will automatically rollup all the utilization numbers for the report. Essentially, it allows the administrator to create an alternative view of the address space to be used in the reports for the Regional Internet Registries.
Seamlessly Integrate with OSS
Integrating IPAM with your Operations Support System allows you to centralize your architecture for processes such as network inventory maintenance, static address provisioning with Incognito’s Broadband Command Center, and network component configuration.
Scale and Flexible Deployment Strategies
Depending on your needs, Address Commander can deploy its services, simultaneously or incrementally, for security and scalability purposes. Components such as Regional Internet Registry Integration, DNS Management and DHCP Discovery, can be deployed and utilized at a later stage, and whenever they are required. This fit the needs of many deployments, where one IT department in the organization has an urgent need of an IP Management solution while other departments may need it in the future. This allows better ROI while minimizing initial issues related to having the entire organization adopt the product in a short period.
In version 4.0, the databases for Address Commander and Name Commander can exist on totally different machines. This create a clear line separating the database administration of these to products in one organization.
Lay the Groundwork for IPv6 deployment
Address Commander provides complete support for IPv6 management. Its architecture is designed to support both IPv4 and IPv6 address ranges. More importantly, Address Commander provides a managerial, side by side view of the IPv4 and IPv6 address blocks, assigned to the same customer, Region, DHCP or Device. This capability ensures a smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6 address. In addition, meaningful HD-ratio utilization reports specific to IPv6 requirements (RFC 3194) are also included in the product.
View IPv4 Alongside IPv6 Address Ranges
When a user views the subnets associated to a Device, Device interface, DHCP or Entity, this product lists IPv4, IPv6 and private blocks in one table. However, filters are available to allow users to focus on specific IP address ranges if desired. A tree based view of your IPv4 and IPv6 address space are also available for use.
Automatically Generate Unique IPv6 Address
The range of available IP address in a /64 subnet is in the billions of trillions. Here, Address Commander gives you the option to generate addresses based on a random algorithm or an associated device's MAC address. These options are available during common tasks such as assigning a node or setting up a device interface.
Create Generic and Specialized Reports for IPv6 Address Space
Utilization reports have been created specifically for IPv6. These reports use host density ratio for the “In-use” calculations instead of standard utilization calculations. Host density ratio measurements provide a more insightful assessment of how IPv6 space is used.
Automatically Create IPv6 Host Names on DNS servers
When Address Commander is integrated with Name Commander, the host names could automatically be created in your DNS system when the node is created in Address Commander. This is very important, especially with IPv6 addresses, because they are extremely difficult to remember, making human readable host names and reverse lookups more important than before.
Self-provision with End User Domain Management Console (EDMC) Customer Portal.
Maximize your efficiency by enabling your customers and business units to self provision domains and IP space, and review their own network information using the EDMC portal.
Maintain a global view of your dynamic scopes across all BCC DHCP servers
Address Commander’s BCC DHCP scope discovery and utilization collection capabilities automatically detect all BCC DHCP servers on the network. Users may use the DHCP discovery task to collect information on the number of IP addresses in use and their assigned status. This feature also enables detection of IP related configuration changes, as well as problematic configurations across DHCP servers. Canned and customizable reports, with utilization summaries, active lease usage, and problematic configurations, ease the task of network condition analysis.
Automatically capture DHCP scope configurations and regional deployments
The Incognito Service Management Proxy (ISMP), deployed next to each Broadband Command Center stack, automatically discovers the primary and secondary DHCP server in a BCC stack. Each DHCP service, status, serialization and configuration will be noted in the Services Control Panel of the Web Management Console (WMC). Address Commander will also create a DHCP object for each primary and secondary pair to represent all the scopes discovered on the DHCP primary and secondary pair.

Schedule automatic capturing of BCC utilization numbers
Address Commander efficiently calculates utilization numbers of each discovered DHCP scope and aggregates the information to align with subnets configured in Address Commander. This allows the organization to report on utilization of the address space, whether it is being used in a static assignment or a dynamic scope.
Automatically Detect Problematic DHCP Configurations
Address Commander can automatically detect problematic configurations and records the DHCP problem along with its source and recommend a possible solution. For example, if part or all of a dynamic range was given to two different DHCP deployments, a diagnostic problem will be recorded in the database pointing out the scope and the two DHCP servers in question. The administrator can then review the problem detected and take the necessary action. Once the problem is addressed it will no longer appear in future scans of the system.
Provision static addresses directly from Address Commander
With Broadband Command Center integration, you can automatically assign DHCP static addresses from one central interface in Address Commander, and automatically forward the assignments to any of the networked regions.
Central Management of all BCC administrators and roles - New
As the number of Broadband Command Center (BCC) deployments increases in an organization, the effort to manage passwords and profiles across hundreds of servers increases. Thus the User Management Component and Incognito Service Management Proxy (ISMP) incorporated in Address Commander permits all BCC 5.5 usernames, passwords and roles to be managed centrally and shared through all your BCC deployments.
