The Internet is rapidly running out of IPv4 addresses, and while service providers are looking for ways to stretch their resources, it is clear that transition to IPv6 is unavoidable.

  • 76% of respondents are either in the mid-adoption or actively planning IPv6 adoption
  • 83% of respondents actively involved in IPv6 planning
    or deployments are doing so because they are simply running out of IPv4 resources
  • Dual-stack deployment (IPv4 and IPv6 running in parallel) remains the preferred method of transition for 90% of service providers
