Operators from all around the world attended many sessions throughout the exhibition to learn how virtualization can affect their current network structures and create new revenue streams. BBWF excelled in arranging the workshops, keynotes, and presentations that spoke about different topics around virtualization and its many benefits. The various workshops had attractive topics on configuration and best practices, but they also went into more depth by covering details like legality issues, implementation, effects of change, ROI, customer experience enhancement, and the new services that can be introduced to all subscribers, regardless of CPE model(s).

Although I was not able to sit in on every keynote session or listen to every speaker in attendance, every session I did attend was interactive and contained an audience full of intelligent questions and comments. Watching and listening to the industry gurus as they questioned the new standards and changes to the industry landscape showed true leadership throughout the event.

Incognito’s presence at this year’s BBWF was essential, as we took part in presenting to operator executives, consultants, and innovators that virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) is not far from reality. Incognito spoke about how vCPE can target the residential market during his keynote session. Attendees were excited to know more details on this topic. Also during the forum, Incognito announced the acquisition of Netadmin— a move that promises to bolster the services we offer while expanding our global reach. We continually strive to be innovators in our field and BBWF offers the chance to be part of an innovative group that assists communication service providers all around the world.

Incognito was proud to distribute complimentary copies of our new handbook vCPE for Dummies, a Wiley Brand, to everyone on the floor during the exhibit hours.

Some of the topics that this book covers are:

  • Network engineering and operations benefits to advance the functionality on your legacy devices without worrying about firmware upgrades
  • Customer care benefits and proactive customer care to prevent problems before your subscribers are affected
  • Marketing and monetization benefits to widen your incoming revenue stream by monetizing subscriber habits and offering service add-ons that subscribers really want

Being part of this year’s Broadband World Forum showed me how eager operators are to know-how manufacturers, software vendors, and consultants are innovating to meet the demand of our new lifestyles. These changes come from a shift in consumer behaviors, making it an exciting time for broadband.
